HOW TO GO GREEN AT THE HOUSING FAIR!
Even though this year's theme is not oriented around sustainability, we encourage all of our vendors to eliminate waste at the event. Here are some tips on how you can HELP US go green! Many of the suggestions are SIMPLE things we can do to be kinder to our planet. If you have other suggestions, please contact our office at (970) 491-2248 and we will be sure to add them to the list!
1.Recycle bins for PAPER, PLASTIC, and CARDBOARD will be placed throughout the ballroom. Please use them as you set up and tear down your displays as well as throughout the day. Also the hospitality room will be stocked with eco-friendly silverware, plates, cups, etc. We will have additional composting bins for food and paper items too.
2.When making brochures or fliers, consider using recycled stock. Or choose pastel colored paper which is recyclable. Avoid neon and astrobright colored paper because it is not recyclable. And remember to take ALL of your brochures and fliers back with you.
3.When creating your displays, bring items that can be reused or repurposed, such as making a board that you can also use in your office. Or if you construct something out of cardboard, recycle it after the event! If you are adding a splash of color to your display, consider using eco-friendly paint!
4. CARPOOL to the event! Make a dent in your carbon footprint for the day!
5. Calculate, reduce, and offset your carbon footprint.
6. Consider alternative energy sources for home emPOWERment. Students will be impressed as it is now important and cool to be green. The use of alternative energy will increase student awareness and generated interest in your company.
