1. How can I advertise my rental through OCL?
Our office offers an online rental database where you can list your property, search available roommates, and post a roommate wanted listing. You also get to set your rent price, list the address information, post pictures and utility information, and put out your contact information. You can post on the website.
We also have lists of student-friendly apartment complexes and property management companies that you may be eligible to advertise on. Contact the office to inquire.
2. How long does my rental listing stay on the online database?
Your rental listing stays on the database for a month at a time. After a month has passed, we'll email you to let you know that it has expired. After a month, you can make the decision to renew or not. Again, this is a free service, so you may renew and make changes as often as you'd like, free of cost.
3. I need to find another roommate, what are my options?
You can start by looking at the Roommate Available postings on our online listing database , full of students who are looking for people to live with. Then, list your property information under the Roommate Needed section of the online listing database. Perhaps upload a picture or post some additional information in the notes section.
We also have events called Roommate Roundups at the end and beginning of every semester where students seeking a living arrangement can meet up with those who have space in their houses to rent. Check our web calendar for the next event!
4. I want to live with other people off campus, what are my options?
Check out the online rental listing database, specifically the roommate needed section. You may advertise yourself as a potential roommate in the Roommate Available portion of the database. People who have places to live will contact you if you seem compatible. Also, come to a Roommate Round-up!
5. How do I know which properties are GLBT friendly?
In the online listing database, landlords or property managers are able to specify if they are GLBT friendly or not. The online listing will indicate the LL/PM's decision. Also, feel free to stop by our office to discuss possible living locations!
6. I am looking for a place to live off-campus, where do I go?
Come to our office or search our website! We have tons of resources, from online listings to student-friendly apartment complex lists and even a list of student-friendly property management companies to help you figure out where you'd like to live.
